Today Buckeye called me and
had good news, at least for me. They have been testing the all new aluminum
frame Breeze. This plane will be 60 lbs. lighter than the old Breeze and
today it was loaded with 860 lbs. of weight and held up 18 inches off the
floor and was released to fall, now this would be plus the weight of the
frame and it passed with no problem and no damage to the frame.
Then it was loaded with 2625 lbs. of weight because that's all the
weight they had available at the time of the testing. At this weight,
the airframe showed no signs of tube deflection.
You know at my feather weight, I need to
fly in as light of a plane as I can get into so I am happy about this.
The new Buckeye Aviation is making every effort to do things the right
way. I have been totally impressed Buckeye's desire to build a strong and
safe machine.
